Capture Connection, Consider Location and Clothes wisely.
Telling your authentic love story makes my heart so happy – I seriously love couple’s sessions. From getting to know you, your love story, where you met, and watching the love and connection unfold – it is truly magical. My motto is less is more, thus I will keep this short and give you some pointers for your next dreamy couples session.
1. Connect With one another.
All the poses are great, but don’t overwhelm yourself with a pinterest inspiration board. Leave the prompting up to me. I love capturing movement and genuine interaction, thus I will give my couple few promps and have them do it in their own unique way – we will have some fun with piggy back rides, spins, twirls and also take some time to enjoy the tender snuggles together. I will get to know you and “read” your energy to go with the natural flow of the session and what you are most comfortable with.
2. Consider Location Wisely
Location sets the mood and the vide for the whole session. If you are sentimental couple, there is nothing better than having your session at the place that speaks to you and tells your story. Think of where you met, where you like to spend time together, where the proposal happened. Also, think about your personalities and we can brainstorm outside the box locations. Are you reading fans – why not the library. Do you enjoy morning coffee and your favorite spot – lets go there and have some java together. Maybe you have a boat that you take out on a weekend, or ride motorcycles, or have a vintage van – anything is game. Or maybe we can climb on the roof of your house and watch the moon together – the possibilities are limitless.
Also what activities do you like to do together – we can incorporate any of your hobbies into out session – grab that guitar, skateboard, surfboard, bicycles – whatever it is you enjoy doing together we can and should incorporate into your session.
3. Clothes.
As much as the location sets the vibe – so do the outfits. Think about the colors and the feel – if you are hanging photos in your home (If you are a print images junkie like me and have a huge gallery wall) – think of colors that go with your house décor and feel of your home. Also, have the location compliment the session – and the less is more. Simple denim is seriously the besttttt. Vintage, carefree, down to earth denim vibes works everywhere – from urban downtown, to rooftop parking garage to running on the beach. Flowy dresses on the beach look gorgeous – choose rich, neutral colors not to take away from your personalities and the magic we create with golden hour light.
