PRINT THOSE PHOTOS FRIENDS
If there is one thing I want to shoot from the rooftop (either of my house or my favorite parking garage) it would be to print those images from our lifestyle photography session. You took so much time to get your family ready to go, outfits coordinated, kids and mostly spouses bribed, drove all the way from Dunedin, Trinity, Palm Harbor or Odessa to the Clearwater beach (or braved enough to make it all the way to St. Pete Beach or Downtown Tampa with this crazy traffic). Yes, in the digital word, we have so many things living on the I-cloud, or on our facebook wall - but for photos, that is not really living in it’s full potential. Your family story images are also art that is meant to be remembered and shared. Your kids will pass by them by everyday, and relieve those emotions and feelings of that moment. Make those memories tangible, bring yourself back to those moments that make you feel all the feels. Also, printing photos is a great way to get your family excited for your session – have kids and spouses participate in making decision which images to print, browse some pinterest inspiration boards for how to display the images in a creative and unique way and make a fun family weekend project out of it. My kids absolutely love looking thought family photo gallery if I tell them to put a heart next to the images they want to live on the wall. I also made them personal photo books with their favorite images through the years.
There is no right or wrong way to print your photos – my personal favorite is designating a wall of your house to be a gallery wall – you can print the photos from the same session (and with our sessions, I document every detail and candid moment, so you will have plenty of images to fill up the wall) or you can tell your life’s story and print images from the most sentimental points in your life. One of the reasons I suggest wearing neutral clothing is that your gallery wall will look polished and cohesive if you print images from different years – the neutral colors will flow together. Or for a statement, you can make all images black and white.
