Documenting Motherhood at home
With Mothers day approaching, it is a perfect time to share some in-home motherhood sessions. While you will find me at the beach a lot (I mean, Clearwater and St Petersburg is known for its incredible beaches here in Tampa Bay), I also absolutely love traveling Tampa Bay capturing motherhood at home.
It is at home where the everyday moments happen, the moments that matter most. The laughs, the snuggles, the conversations at the kitchen counter – all those simple, yet powerful moments happen at home. Home is the foundation for so many memories made and yet to come.
I still remember the sleepless nights after bringing our twins home, the rocking and singing and having two babies laying on my chest, afraid to fall asleep. I remember the first day of kindergarten, packing backpacks, looking at kiddos smiling and at the same time nervous faces, realizing just how much they have grown up. I remember the happiness of hearing kids giggles as they run through the kitchen on Christmas morning. I still remember the smell of pancakes my 5-year-old insisted on cooking all by herself (using the adult utensils, pan and a stove) while I was only allowed to observe her from the kitchen counter and have way too mature for her age conversation. I remember the storybooks my daughter made for hours on end, coloring with her favorite pink and purple crayons and copying her favorite books into her own, proclaiming she wants to be an illustrator when she grows up.
For many moms with small kids, including myself, the daily chaos can be exhausting, the days can be mundane and sometimes we don’t slow down to appreciate those moments as they unravel. However, those simple, everyday moments are absolutely magical, those are the moments that create building blocks of life. Those simple fleeing moments will become our favorite heartwarming memories.
Every motherhood story is different, and every motherhood journey is important to be documents as it is in the present moment with all of it’s ups and downs. Your real, authentic story is worth remembering for generations to come.
