coffee date with momma
This sweet mother-daughter session was such a joy to capture here in the local coffee shop in Tampa Florida. I am always on the look-out for new locations, ideas, and look close to home to find hidden gems of location so that each family can have a unique experience that fits their personalities and makes the best foundation to tell their beautiful, authentic, candid story. Be it a beautiful scenic beach (It feels like I live in either Ft. De Soto In St. Pete, Sand Key in Clearwater, Honeymoon Island in Dunedin or Fred Howard in Tarpon Springs) , rooftop parking garage in Downtown Tampa, walk through quaint streets of Safety Harbor, or family's home (also my favorite), we find a location that is most meaningful to families and mommas.
The coffee shop was a perfect location as it is walking distance within momma's Tampa's neighborhood, and made a great setting for this radiant mom and her two sweet girls. Between the café vibes, mom's casual and super cute denim dress and adorable pink dresses for the kiddos -the fun, playful vibes were set. All I had to do was step back, observe the interaction, let the natural moments and connection play out and just capture the magic. The session was so laid back, filled with lots of smiles, cuddles, twirling, people watching out of the window, secrets telling and laughter. Don't worry, no caffeinated beverages were consumed by the littles. There was however a handful of M&Ms. SHHHH.
As moms, it seems, often we are not in the frame. We take a lot of images of our kids, but maybe not so many with us in it. However, those fleeting, ordinary moments are so important. It is important for moms to remember their kids lives as it was in that moment - the little hands playing with her neckless, the softness of the hair when all cuddled up together, the stillness of the loving moment. It is as important for our kids, as they grow up, to have those moments frozen in time, to get back to that safe, loving, familiar, nostalgic feeling. To be able to look back at their childhood and see mom present right there with them.
